A very pretty antique Pietra Dura jewellery or trinket box.

Beautiful marble and stone inlay on the top of the box with a beige / gray marble background and a pretty image of a bird on a branch and a butterfly.

The box is wooden covered with a cream leather covering with gilt banding around the edges, the bottom of the box is in green leather and it has the original paper label in the corner from Florence, Italy.

Early 20th century, this box has a soft suede lining in the inner bottom and this overlaps slightly to protect the contents when inside by covering them.

It is in good antique condition, the box opens and closes well, the leather is not ripped or torn and neither is the lining, the leather remains soft and supple there is no missing inlay on the top, there are some scratches overall to the leather and marble top and some age related wear.
