An amazing entirely hand crafted one of a kind jugendstil art nouveau solid sterling silver bangle circa 1890.
Dating to the 1890s this is a one of a kind bracelet that is a custom made one of a kind piece. The time invested in making this bracelet by hand is incomprehensible as it would have likely taken many weeks work to create this beautiful piece.
The feminine art nouveau design of the bracelet has vines, bunches of grapes and tendrils which wrap around the wrist and are entwined. On the front the tendrils at close examination spell out the letters LAH. It took me some time to see these initials at first I only saw the exceptionally feminine and beautifully organic forms in the design.
On the reverse there is a hidden clasp at the back. To open the bracelet you simply push the tendrils from opposing sides together. This item is a one off item that will not ever be able to be replaced.
It measures approximately 5 1/2" (140mm) inside circumference and is 1 5/8" (41mm )wide at the front.
This amazing bangle is not marked which is not uncommon for pieces from this era. It has been professionally tested and we guarantee sterling silver.
I have never seen anything quite like this bangle before. Art nouveau jewelry is rare to find on the market as most pieces are reproduction items done in the style of. This is a genuine bracelet from the era.
It is in gorgeous condition.
At the back of the bracelet the clasp is hidden amidst the vines and tendrils.

A very heavy Victorian period wide mesh slide bracelet with black enamel decoration and fringe with balls. The bracelet was later converted, probably in the 50s, to a watch. It tests 14K and is marked. The watch is in good running condition. There are two of the fringe pieces missing, but otherwise, condition is very good. Circa: 1880 (watch from 1950s). Dimensions: Largest: 8", it slides and adjusts for a smaller wrist. Mesh width: 1 1/8", Slide: 1 3/4", Weight: 115 grams.
