A very fine French antique icicle shaped scent bottle.

The body of the bottle is made from a mottled duck egg blue porcelain with scrolling enamel and gilt detailing.

The centre features a romantic hand painted scene of lovers together in a field in the manner of Watteau but unsigned, the image is bordered by further enamelling.

The outer lid is made from gilded brass with a small gilt chain and finger ring though could be hung from a sash or attached to a chatelaine.

Inside the outer lid there is a tiny glass stopper, original to the piece and without any damages.

Overall the scent bottle is in very good antique condition for the age c1850-60
There are no chips or cracks and the imagery is still fresh, very slight loss of gilding but commensurate with age.

Approx 3.5" length and 2.5" circumference at the widest point.
