This Georgian portrait miniature is quite charming.

It features a cut out print of an engraving of The Prince of Wales and his younger brother the Duke of York as children with their family pet dog, Prince of Wales later became Prince Regent and who we know as George the 4th.

It comes in an early Victorian ebony frame, circular with a good 1" depth, internally it has a gilt rim and also a metal hanging loop.

It is glazed and the glass is free from chips or cracks, there is handwriting explaining the image on the reverse.

Good condition overall, some signs of wear and ageing, commensurate with age, some small scuffs and surface marks, there is a small chip on the wood of the frame and the image is not set straight in line with the loop, see photos.

It is approx 4.25" diameter in total and 1" depth.
