Bill Reynolds was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. He and his family lived in Indiana and Michigan before moving to Minnesota.

After graduating from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1977 with a degree in graphic design, Bill began to pursue a career in illustration. In addition to graphic design projects, Bill began to sell oil and watercolor paintings in various galleries. He became interested in the etching process in the late 1980's
Along width becoming well aquatinted with his chosen mediums, Bill has taught courses at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the College of Associated Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota.
