An attractive and large silver plated footed coaster, early Walker and Hall, Victorian era c1860's.
The rim has a reeded top border, there is an all over heavily engraved design of scrolling foliate and flowers and decorative chunky lion paw feet, there is a central cartouche surrounded by scrolls and this has not been engraved or monogrammed so could be personalised if desired.
It is a very nice quality silver plate and is overall in good condition, no dings, dents or loss of plate some scratches on the inside,lots of detail and a good weight.
Designed to hold a bottle and surround it with ice you could possibly fit two in this piece or you could use it to serve sweets or something delicate.
A grand and quality piece for the dining table and perfect for that special occasion meal or just a good family get together.
Fully marked with the flag mark for Walker and Hall, serial number present but this piece was made prior to the introduction of the date lettering system introduced by Walker and Hall.
